    Reading Small Boats Head

    Reading Small Boats Head

    On 9th October, the Boat Club fielded 30 crews for the first regatta of the racing year. The entirety of Upper Boats and Colts all took part with eight of these crews winning their categories. The competitors comprised of a series of secondary schools including St. Paul's, Pangbourne and Reading Blue Coat, leading to some exciting racing.     BASHER and Wallingford Regatta

    BASHER and Wallingford Regatta

    On Saturday the Boat Club fielded 10 crews for the first regatta of the BASHER series. The 2nd VIII, 3rd VIII, Colts A, Colts B, Colts C, and Junior Colts A,B,C,D,E, all took part with five of these crews winning their categories. The BASHER series comprises of Bedford School, Abingdon, St Pauls, Hampton, Eton, and Radley; all of whom are big names in the rowing world, so this event provides some great racing for the crews. The conditions were less than ideal and very varied,

    Hampton Head

    On 3rd February six eights from the Eton College Boat Club participated in the Hampton Head Race. The crews, split equally between Upper Boats and Colts, braved the atrocious weather as the race went ahead, with some crews claiming great success. The boat stroked by Max Ridgwell came top of the J18 eights event with another crew stroked by Kian Power following to claim the fourth place six seconds behind. The Colts performance, although not as outstanding was still impressive

    Colts Chronicle (Weeks 1-3) In the first two weeks of Lent half, the Colts members of the ECBC started their gruelling climb to the top, with National Schools regatta looming on the horizon only four months away. Although so far, the weather has not been great, as one would expect of January, the Colts have braved the elements in their water sessions.
